Planned Giving

Impact Cradle of Liberty’s Council’s Future with Estate Planning

Leaving your legacy through a gift to Scouting may be one of the most important decisions you make in your lifetime.  As a donor to the Cradle of Liberty Council, you can use your giving to achieve personal goals, enhance your financial security, and help shape the future of Scouting. Planned giving includes several ways for you to include charitable giving in your total financial plan. Many donors and supporters of Scouting have chosen planned giving to show their interest in supporting Scouting beyond their lifetime while realizing some tax benefits today.

Bequests

You may be looking for a way to make a significant gift to help further Cradle of Liberty Council’s mission. The easiest way to accomplish this is with a gift made through your will or trust called a bequest. It is one of the most popular and flexible ways that you can support our work by investing in the future of the youth we serve in Philadelphia, Montgomery and Delaware Counties. When you leave a bequest to Cradle of Liberty Council in your will or trust, you are:

  • Creating a lasting legacy to be remembered
  • Decreasing the burden of taxes on your family
  • Possibly receive estate tax savings

We strongly encourage you to consult with your advisor to include language in your will or trust naming Cradle of Liberty Council as a beneficiary of your estate plan. You can find sample language to assist you in crafting a bequest that best fits your situation here:

Beneficiary Designations

You may also make distributions via beneficiary designations for: life insurance, IRA’s and other retirement accounts, charitable trusts, revocable trusts and other life income gifts. To do so, simply ask the plan or fund administrator for a Change of Beneficiary form.
