The Cradle of Liberty Council is a volunteer-driven organization providing formative, age-appropriate experiences to young people from every community throughout Philadelphia, Montgomery and Delaware Counties. Scouting is designed to foster learning, team building, resilience and personal responsibility. The council is welcoming and accessible to all youth and their families regardless of interests and abilities.
All leaders must take the new Safeguarding Youth Training by May 31, 2026. The course replaced Youth Proetction Training on May 16, 2025. If you have never taken the new 90-minute course you must take it to receive credit for the training. You are only eligible to take the shorter refresher course if you have previously taken the new Safeguarding Youth Training. Check your completion dates in your my.scouting record. The system will let you take the refresher but not give you credit if you have not taken the full 90-minute course.
In Scouting, we will not compromise the safety of our youth, volunteers, and employees. Safety is a value that must be taught and reinforced at every opportunity. We are all responsible and must hold each other accountable to provide a safe environment for all participants.
